Supporting Ukraine’s Orphans
Across generations and across borders, one important measure of a society is how it cares for its most vulnerable. Today, thousands of children in Ukraine have been displaced, separated from family, or left without stable guardianship as a result of war. In moments like this, the principles that sustain thriving communities – natural rights, the rule of law, and individual liberty – are not abstract ideals. They are urgent responsibilities.
The Henry Knox Institute has launched a focused initiative to help move vulnerable children out of immediate harm and into safe, stable, and nurturing environments. Our aim is practical and long-term: to partner with trusted organizations on the ground to provide security, shelter, education, and relational support so these children can begin rebuilding their lives. Safety is the first step – but stability, opportunity, and belonging are what allow young people to flourish.
We believe every child deserves the chance to grow in an environment where they are protected, encouraged, and equipped for a hopeful future. This responsibility is too important to delegate to government. It is up to us. By helping create conditions where displaced children can experience care, continuity, and community, we are investing in lives that will shape families, neighborhoods, and nations for decades to come. This project reflects our commitment to advancing human flourishing where it is needed most.
